Day 194 Sun 21st May 2006
Catching up with stuff in Pind

I was woken this morning at 7am by a call from Ismail, he asked if he should send someone to do the tiling or not. We haven't got any tiles for them to put on yet, so I don't see the point! Anyway I was nowhere near ready to face to day yet so I went back to bed till 10am. After breakfast Soma and I made a trip to Nakodar to visit the tile people and pick up a couple of bits for the bike. We got back for around midday and I set about washing my clothes. Two hours later I was done with most of the washing and feeling totally wasted! We really should think about getting a washing machine!

I had lunch around 2.30pm and tried to take a nap like everyone else. I have never bothered before but I just felt like trying it out, it didn't work! I just lay there for about 30 minutes then got up and started working on the bike. I wanted to have a go at fixing the horns and fitting the relay. Kittu gave up on it yesterday, but to be fare on him, I was pushed for time and it wasn't really a priority job. It took me a while but I got there in the end. Working on the bike brought back memories of the missions I have had with my beloved Golf, and increased my determination to buy an old bike to restore the next time I come here. Having said that I spoke to Kittu tonight and if one comes along in the next week or so I will buy it before I go.

It was gone 7pm by the time I finished and put the bike back together. That gave just enough time before dinner to sit on the sewing machine and repair my small rucksack. Oh and in between all that I found time to put some pictures on the wall for my Thai. It's been a busy old day, and I'm feeling the effects. My right calf muscle is sour after spending 30 minutes trying to start the bullet yesterday, hopefully I won't have to do that again for a while!
