As we left Las Vegas on another sunny day, we stopped at a car wash to clean all the Death Valley dust off and check a car tyre pressure warning. It seemed that the tyre pressures were on the low side and had been since we left San Francisco !! Cruising NE on Hi 15 we passed a long queue of traffic for an air show. Air Show !!! - where were the marketing men when you really needed them ?? We moved up the valley towards Mesquite and were buzzed by a B52 bomber doing low passes in preparation for the airshow. It was flying as slow as a Jumbo jet and just seemed to float down the valley.I resisted, I had got away very well with 2 half days of Star Trek and an air show on top of that would have been a bit unfair. On route we stopped to add a tyre gauge to the expedition equipment.

We were heading towards 'Canyonlands' and it was all mostly barren hills with interesting rock formations. We passed through Leeds and then turned into 'Zion National Park' where the terrain suddenly became greener with trees and a river in the valley bed. The red rocks were now really intriguing shapes and we found a hotel at Springdale, a small town in the park.
