We were at the Gare du Palais train station in Quebec at 8pm for a  half hour taxi transfer to Charny on the south bank of the St Lawrence river. Here we were to board the overnight train from Montral to Halifax, Nova Scotia. A distance of some 900 miles.

The canadian VIA rail train was named " The Ocean".
