Early start (6:30 am); and we thought this was a holiday!
Walked around the island of Santa Cruz today and saw some amazing sights. Who would have thought birds could be so exciting? When you have things like blue-footed boobies dancing (Steve stifles immature giggling) and frigate birds puffing out their big red chests, you can´t help but be an avid bird watcher. There were sea lions everywhere, just lazing about - ahh the life!
Went snorkeling and saw a lot of colourful fish. Then got on the boat and motored to our next island. It was a bumpy trip and most people were speaking to God on the big white porcelain telephone. Tara was one of the few who was not. Tara:Yaaah me, I spent the 4 hours staring really hard at the horizon and willing myself to keep my lunch down!
Steve on the other hand was not such a good horizon watcher..
Went for a second snorkel and were joined in the water by some playful sea lions and one gigantic turtle who came up close to check us out.
After that we went to a beach on the island of Santa Fe where we got to walk amongst loads of sea lions and even saw a baby suckling from its mother.
Quelle surprise, we had chicken for the second day in a row after the Americans put in their food preferences. Seems like we´re on the floating version of KFC.
Excellent day, another bumpy ride ahead on the boat tonight though, so fingers crossed.
DAILY FACTS
- Stayed on: The Eden, Santa Fe Island, Galapagos.
- Number of times Steve had to shove hand down toilet: 2 wees, 1 poo
- Quote of the day: One of the American asked our tour guide, "What´s the difference between a lizard and a reptile?"
- Wikitravel: Santa Fe

A blue-footed booby
. Steve: Amazing. I know that I didn't have carrots for lunch, yet there they were, staring back up at me from the toilet bowl. How does that happen?Went for a second snorkel and were joined in the water by some playful sea lions and one gigantic turtle who came up close to check us out.

Hello!
Hello both.
Great to hear all about your trip and what you're getting up to so far. I have to say how jealous I am looking at your latest entry from the Galapogos islands - it looks awsome. Where's the pictures of the giant tortoises though?! Hope you're having fun, spare a thought for the rest of us wage slaves! Catch up with you again soon.
