Today was a reasonably short drive from New Orleans to Pensacola, Florida. Our only stop along the way was at Mobile, Alabama. Home to the USS Alabama along with other war memorabilia, we had a short visit before continuing on our way.
We arrived at Pensacola beach shortly before lunchtime and everyone was keen to hit the white sandy shores of the gulf coast. The weather was pretty rubbish but that didn't deter anyone.
After a lunch at Hooters consisting of burgers and deep-fried pickles (disgusting, although Adrian loved them) we wandered down to what we thought was the beach. It resembled more of a harbour-beach than an ocean beach and it wasn't until we were leaving that we realised we were on the wrong side of a large spit, with the ocean on the other side!! Some of the group rented jet skis while the rest of us relaxed on the beach and went for a swim (Adrian also raped a child's inflatable whale, but that is a story for another time).
We left the beach in the afternoon for the 20 minute drive to our hotel. We were forced to have a quiet night due to the isolated location of the hotel. A small group grabbed a taxi back to Pensacola to hit the clubs but the majority of us had an early night in preparation for Orlando the next day!
