We moved back to Campo Los Compadres yesterday because I had told the crazy Swede and his German girlfriend to meet us here before I knew about the moto madness. Fortunately the moto gang had disappeared for the workweek and we had the campo to ourselves. It has been pretty quiet now that the weekend crowd has gone and the beach is cleaner and prettier at Los Compadres. The American lady that lives in the house next to the camp showed us how to dig for clams and gave us a mackerel so we even had fresh fish tonight thanks to the crazy Swede's culinary skills. This is more like it!
Monday night, we drove into San Felipe and after climbing the hill above town to visit the shrine of Guadalupe we ate dinner at one of the many tiny restaurants along the malecon or boardwalk. I can tell that I'm going to get hooked on tacos de pescado (fish tacos).
Kudzu seemed happy to see the Eurons (European Morons) and get triple the attention. They are going to travel with us for a couple of weeks so she should get plenty of extra treats from the German who just happens to be a sucker for dogs. Even though they don't own a pet, she carries bags of dog food and treats to feed stray dogs they encounter on the road.
