The Rock House is going to take more work than originally planned and nobody seems to be able to agree on what I'm supposed to do. I've never seen so many rats in my life. Kudzu and I are camping in the driveway and using the covered porch for a living room and kitchen. It's so cold at night that we crawl in the sleeping bag about an hour after the sun sets and the rats immediately come out and throw raucous parties complete with a rodent mosh pit and rodent Dee Jays. Apparently their culinary tastes lean towards plastic and metal because in two weeks they completely chewed through the wires leading to my brake lights and turn signals. On the plus side, the rodent parties in turn attract coyote parties so we get to enjoy their nightly serenades.
On the 28th, myself and two other volunteers attended a wilderness conference at Joshua Tree National Park.
