There is often the debate among travelers between Lonely Planet and Rough Guides, or Let's Go and Fodors. Yet, in my mind, one of the best guides are graphic guides, with maps that convey lots and lot of information.

My favourite is now a little out of date, but it stands as a great example of using maps to present a place in an easy-to-understand way. Check it out.
