Well, it wasn't exactly the most Irish of St Patrick's Day.

However the Irish bar in Lijiang was quite full, and there were even some signs that people were wearing green from among their limited clothes stashes.

The bar was serving mojitos and Dali beers - there was no Guiness, possibly on account of the barman leaving the next day on an overseas trip, possibly on account of an oversight in ordering beer.

The Irish are the 'Chinese of Europe' having spread over the last century to most places on earth.
