Sorry for those building up for the Paralympics. The Games are over. And their was no trouble. China won lots of medals and showed off its fireworks (and special effects).

We didn't see any Tibetans. We didn't see any Muslim bombers. We didn't see any Chinese peasants in coolie hats. Chairman Mao wasn't to be seen.

The sun shone through the smog. Volunteers smiled and said 'hello' and 'welcome to Beijing'. We heard everywhere ' Welcome to Beijing ' being played too loudly over speakers.

We didn't have any official protests. The Dalai Lama didn't attend.
