A beautiful and historic region in Central Turkey, Cappadoccia is famous for its amazing soft rock formations. Throughout history locals have carved homes into this soft rock, which made it harder for passing enemy armies to spot them, but also provided relief from oppressive heat of central Turkey in mid-summer (think of a wine cave\cellar). We initially planned to spend two nights in the town of Goreme in the region before heading to Kas on the coast, but quickly changed our plans and spent four nights in Goreme.
