Kristen’s kiddos are great. Noah is almost nine (happy birthday next week) and full of spunk. Handsome with his dark hair and brown eyes and loves baseball as much as Tom and Darren
. He let the boys borrow some Brewers shirts to wear to the game so they didn’t feel out of place. Maya is seven and the quieter one of the bunch. She has beautiful blue eyes and curly brown hair and is very affectionate. I love her little laugh. Then there’s four year old Sara. My comment for her after we’d been there less than twenty minutes was "boy, you have a lot of fun in you don’t you!" Kristen thought that was a nice way to put it. She also has big blue eyes with lighter curls and keeps them all on their toes. Kristen teaches fourth grade and Matt is a stay-at-home dad and is doing a great job because they are an awesome family.
We took a picnic dinner to the swim park and relaxed until we left their house a little before 8:00 p.m. to get through Chicago tonight. Kristen suggested it since going through Chicago during the day is torture and can set you back 1-2 hours. We made it through with minimal delay, so thanks Kristen for the advice! I was really sad to leave them and Maya told her mom she didn’t want us to go. Thank you Doedens family for a great few days!
We are off to Toronto now for the last few days of our Trip of a Lifetime. Take care everyone!

(Jana) I can't believe it’s been almost 17 years since I’ve seen Kristen. We had such a great time with them these past few days. They have a beautiful home in West Bend, Wisconsin which is 30-40 minutes north of Milwaukee. We didn’t get to bed until midnight after the game and ended up sleeping until almost 9:00 a.m! Kristen and Matt made us a buffet breakfast fit for royalty. We ended up going to the Discovery World museum in Milwaukee for the afternoon since it was so hot and humid outside. Matt stayed home with Sara since she was too young to enjoy the museum. She was quite upset about this, went storming out the door, climbed in the backseat and wouldn’t move. We all promised her that when we returned we would go swimming which helped.
