Well - today we set off on a minivan tour to see the Brazilian side of the Iguacu Falls - killing two birds with one stone - we combined a booked tour and getting across the border (hassle free with a Portugese speaking guide - sweeet)...we like it when its easy!
Well - the weather wasnt so flash today - so we are glad that we had a full day in the sun on the Argentenian side yesterday - it wouldnt have been so flash today getting drenched under the falls with so sun rays to dry out thats for sure!
After we crossed the border into Brazil (only about half an hour away) - and went through their border proceedure which was pretty painless - we quickly crossed into Paraguay (no immigration details required) - yes 3 countries in about half an hour! Paraguay has free access to the Itaipu Dam - half of which is on the Brazilian side- however, they charge you to enter - so most tours use the free Paraguay views and access to the dam - which is truely gigantic! Paul (as an engineer) found it quite interesting - although it was quite an eye-sore - not the prettiest structure i have seen - but its size made it quite phenomenal!
Then we went onto a famous Brazilian Churrascaria (Brailian BBQ) for lunch - all you can eat - and seeing we have an 15 hour bus trip this afternoon to Florianopolis - you can be sure that we made the most of that! It was awesome! The place was packed out with hundreds of tour groups - rather tacky......but i couldnt complain about the salads and fruit.....yes......finally yummy tropical fruit.....jackpot!
After lunch - we waddled (very full) around the Brazilian side of the Iguacu Falls - it was awesome to have seen the Falls close up on the Argentenian side yesterday - and then to have the amazing panoramic view of them in Brazil today! Two very different - and beautiful perpectives. They were still as breathtaking the second day - and in the rain!
After being dropped at the Brazilian border (as our tour returned to Argentina) we caught a costly cab to the bus station and departed for Florianopolis - ready to check out a Brazilian beach town - and see some sea, sand and sun. Heres hoping.....
Lots of Love,.
