Sycamore Canyon State Park
So Brian and I learned the answers to two very important questions today: They do pick those huge strawberry fields by hand and...we really do look like bums. At least we don't have to wonder any more.
We went really slow today...now i know that's not a surprise, but we wasted ALOT of time today too...i guess that's not a surprise either though. Our first stop was at the groccery store where i applied for a "Ralph's" card. Who knows if we'll even see another "Ralph's", but it saved us at least two dollars so i'd say it was totally worth it. Subway was just down a couple stores in the shopping center(it seems that what all the towns are made up of - shopping center after shopping center) so we stopped and had breakfast.
The next stop was at the library(don't tell us we're getting predictable or anything) and we spent a good couple hours there and that's where we were informed that we look homeless(in not so many words) We were sitting outside of the library using the computer and a lady came out and said she never thought of sitting outside and working on her laptop. She talked to us for a few minutes about the trip and said something to the extent that she knew we weren't bums because bums don't have computers! ha! so i guess everything else about us just screams bum. at least we're fitting in with the locals right?
There was another really pretty stretch of coast the last 5 miles of today's ride - it was flat too making it even nicer. We were surprised with $3/person hiker/biker campsites again here, took the first showers that we actually had to pay for, are just hanging out waiting for dinner as usual, and looking forward to getting into L.A. tomorrow.
Tonight we're just bums that smell good. peace love bicycles
