Day 17 - October 3

The most beautiful coast that we've seen was coincidently paired with some of the ugliest weather Oregon has offered us.   The 35 mile ride seemed to take forever(6 hours!) in the wind and the rain.  We literally fought the wind to get here and at some points were even blown off the road.  It seemed at some moments that all we could do was laugh, seeing that the wind was just so ridiculous and we were putting so much effort and hardly making any progress.

When we made it to Port Orford's grocery store we were almost in shock to see one of the cyclists that had also stayed in Bandon the night before, to be loading all of his belongings off the bus he had taken the 30 miles we had just battled out.  We don't know what became of him because he never made it here last night.

Brian and I made record time getting our tent up in a break in the rain and surprisingly enough most of our clothing was actually dry when we finally were situated.  The couple we had met at Sunset Bay was camping here as well as some cyclists from the UK.  They invited us to their campsite for a fire since the rain had stopped and we listened to some good old 80s pop music and dried out our wet clothing(Wouldn't you know, I had to be the one who burned my sock.)

We decided that we wouldn't be riding today since the weather looked even less promising than yesterday.
No pictures today...we were a little distracted by the ridiculous wind gusts

From Humbug State Park(in the middle of nowhere),  peace love bicycles
