day 3- September 19

We had hot oatmeal for breakfast today!  Woohoo! (We forgot lighters...of course)

On the road with Al by 8 today.  Just a few hills in the begining of the day, but it was pretty flat for the most part making for a quick day.  We made it here by 1:30, putting in 48 miles.  Right now we're stopped at the library before heading to our campsite which is rumored to have hot showers and some pretty cool hikes.

As for the excitment of the day, Brian thought he lost his wallet 18 miles into today's ride.  We had stopped at a coffee place for a break and all he wanted was a cookie.  Before you know it, Brian's bike was completely unloaded and scattered across the lawn.  We still don't know why, but wouldn't you know, Brian's wallet was in the front pocket of one of my bags(the first place i looked after he couldn't find it)  Later down the road we stopped to pick more berries.  We have two water bottles full of them and I can't wait to eat them in oatmeal tomorrow morning.

We parted ways with Al when we arrived Montesano.  He's heading to Guatemala from the Arctic Ocean.  He's been on the road for two months and told us he plans to finish in December.

In other news...my basket will be on its way soon and that's something to be excited about!  I am also starting to smell incredibly bad and it's only the third day.  guess i better get used to it.  We have a short day tomorrow at 30? some miles.  Should be good.

peace love bicycles

What an adventure!
Sounds like you guys are getting the hang of long distance biking. Keep it up!
