Where I stayed
We pulled into another cove later that evening and let us jump off the top deck of the boat (that's high) but by god I was having non of that, me and Lucy went down to the bit where you walk onto the boat and jumped off there. It was about half a meter but I was well impressed with myself as jumping into stuff like lakes is for more brave people than myself.
The Captain fed us our tea.. Fish and rice, again. I hate fish :( bluuurgh. We got chatting to quite a few of the people on board, from places like SwitZerland, Singapore, France, Canada and Australia.
When I was little me and my sister used to play a game called 'the humming game' which is essentially humming a tune to a song and making the other person guess it, music seemed like common ground for everyone so I suggested we all played it with shots for the person who couldn't guess. The people were loving it and I felt well happy that the humming game was such a success (mel if you're reading you will be too haha.)
Everyone was pretty drunk after an hour or so of this and there was one point where we were all singing to Oasis and all the people on the other boats in the bay joined in! One of those lovely moments in life when you're sat under the stars on a boat in a beautiful place and just love your life! :D
We all decided to sleep on the deck under the stars and watch the sun come up, so there was a long line of people in their duvets watching shooting stars in the sky and singing along to Coldplay, life is full of cheesy moments recently! There was one girl in particular who I remember called Ming and she was from Singapore, she was incredibly racist towards herself and always said things like 'you have it, I'm just the asian' and at one point she went 'why do all the English hate the Asians, we don't hate you' :( felt well sad that she felt that way.
It was lovely to meet such a nice group of people with the exception of a couple of girls from Brighton who wouldn't shut up about Brighton and when we were listening to the Chili Peppers they said 'we err, don't really listen to music like this.. We like something that's kind of abit more mellow. Brighton has a really cool underground music scene' blah blah do one.
Next day we went to a restaurant and they put a plate of squid in the middle of the table, tenticles n all. Actually wanted to vom on it :/ so I had rice and cabbage, mmm.
For our last night in Hanoi we spent the night on a bus, with beds on it! Was cray-zy. Currently in a small town called Hue which is on the coast in central Vietnam, next stop Hoi An =D
