Today i went with Lizzie to Auckland Museum, it was really good but so big it's hard to see it all in detail.

One of the best bits was a volcano exhibition and it had a simulation of what would happen if a volcano 'exploded' (is that the right word?) in Auckland. Basically you walked into a 'typical New Zealand home' and sat on the sofa and there was a TV with a news report about an earthquake and steam rising off the sea and there's a 'patio window' which is meant to be the view from the house over the harbour and you see the steam rise etc. Then all the lights go out and the house starts shaking and you see the volcano explode and it coming towards the house. It ends with the house shaking and the lights going out. It was pretty impressive if not a little terrifying to think that it could actually happen.

We also went down K' Road today unintentionally, to be honest it wasn't that great and i don't see what all the fuss is about although i believe it comes alive at night. Then again you wouldn't see me dead there at night, actually you might and that's the problem. There were some pretty cool shops and that would be it but like i said i think it's more famous for it's nightlife. So sorry Claire no exciting stories from K'Road, guess we'll just have to stick to Old Basing :-p if you know what i mean.
