Last night / early this morning i went with my brother Matt and his girlfriend Meridy to White Hill in Kingsclere to watch the meteor shower.

After the initial adjustment of being on top of a hill in the dark at nearly 2 in the morning ("I can't see" - "Great i'm being propped up by someone that can't see") and Meridy saying "why are we whispering, the meteors aren't afraid of noise", we settled down to some stargazing and fullfilled a lifelong dream of laying on the floor watching the stars, ("Isn't this a road?" - "Don't worry we'll see their lights coming.")

Ok so some info for any of you who like us didn't really know what a meteor is. A meteoroid is a large sand to boulder-sized particle of debris in the solar system. The visible path of a meteoroid that enters the Earth's (or another body's) atmosphere is a meteor, more commonly known as a shooting star or falling star. Many meteors are part of a meteor shower, which is what we saw.

So aside from stars we saw foxes, owls and tried to feed hobnobs to a cute squeaky animal (mouse or hedgehog maybe?) Needless to say it didn't work....Matt. Discussion soon turned to the difference between Area 51 and Roswell and the existence of aliens as it would do lying in the dark staring at the sky. Our conclusion was that yes there is something out there....any other opinions?

Aliens
Me and my dad did this the other night in our garden. We got cushions and lay down on some steps. Our discussion turned to aliens as well, and we wondered about what would happen if we were the most advanced planet in the universe. All these theories that there is some higher intelligence out there that could come and teach us stuff was rubbish.

Anywho, your haircut looks cool. You getting excited about your gap year?
