So.... where was i... oh yes wellington, so we met the others at one as planned and headed to the main museum in wellie, i'm not too good at remebering names but if your there it's free and has a earthquake simulator, which is a bit like a ride at thorpe park but not quite.... but worth a go if you're are there, BUT the main reason we were there was for the Lord of the Rings exhibit... me and naomi were only gonna stay in wellie for one nite but when we heard that the exhibit was there we decided to stay and what a marvelous decision that was! As we went up to floor where it was on i was so excited and giddy almost like a wee kid, we got in and it was fab... well worth the money $12 about 4 quids but wow! It was full of the costumes from the films, like all the main characters costumes that they actually wore from gandalph to ferrodo.... everyones costumes and if they wore a few like liv tylers character they were there too, the weapons were there, jewllery and the ONE famous ring in question was there too, there was backstage film footage, models from the set, like alot of the buildings were made in miniture and they were so beautifully detailed, the place where the final fight was, minas tirith, the model of that was just superb! I could go on all night cos it's one of the most impressive things i ever saw with my own 2 eyes at a museum, they had prosthetic arms and legs and heads and even a very lifelike dead model of sean bean for when he's dead on the boat! there was tree beard and he was mechanical and moved about, it was beauty! There was even the cave troll and he was that detailed he even had a mister part! Models of golum were there too and they were mint, gosh there was just so so much to see artwork and set design and allsorts, but one of the greatest bits was the machine that turned you into a hobbit, yes you heard right! When we got there naomi was drawing the buildings and sets so i wandered round on mi todd, not wanting to miss anything and eventually caught up with james and neal, we were talking about what we would be if we could be anything in the lord of the rings and i said a hobbit.... cos you could get up to mischief and hide in small places... they both said elves i think and then as we walk round the corner we see the hobbit making machine, well i tell you now i was so excited that i really did nearly wee (yes, i said nearly!) Now on the 1st fil-em (as naomi says it) gandolph is sitting on a cart with ferrodo and he looks diddy and they had a machine where you sit next to someone and you look teeny like a hobbit and they look massive like gandolph! wow.... i wanted a go, james and neal had a go and their picture looked mint, you both take a turn at being each person, i looked for naomi but couldn't see her so neal said he'd come in the pic, so the end of this rambling tale is now i have a pic of me looking like a hobbit... hooray!
we bumped into naomi later and me and her got one done and i can tell you now it was just as ood fun 2nd time round and then chris and laura got one and their pic was fab, looked dead funny, well worth ago if you ever come accross this device!
well after the lord of the rings tour you would have thought we'd be all funned out..... but nope not us, we all sat down for a spot of average lunch, not too great if i remember right and talked about what we should do now.... there was a mention of quaser lazer and we were all Sold with a capital S! What's more fun than running around and shooting laserz at each other..... i can't think of much! so all barr naomi (who went to meet peeps she met in asia) headed to the ganes place!
We booked in for 3 games and watched a strange film about safety in the quaser maze with alot of people wearing camo hotpants, me , laura and chris were gutted we left ours back at the hostel, after the film we were set it was the greens v's reds, i was in the green team with laura and james and we were playing against neal, keith and chris.... who were bound to lose! It was a reet giggle, apart from the fact i was about as good at hiding as a illumious elephant in a field and took a lot of shots but like a true fighter i battled on, chris was soooo funny playing he'd run up to you and just stand infront of you shooting repeatadly but about 4 inches from you, it was a good tactic as he came top in the red team, me and laura had plans to take down the boys base but sadly we lost every game! was a bloody good laugh though! i'll try and get some pics up of us in our battle gear with guns and all!
after that the games guy gave us free tokens to the arcade where i raced keith several times winning every game.... that was a lie, i lost but hey ho!
we then headed to a burger bar for a spot od dinner, i was still full from lunch so had a spider which is a cola float.... cola and vanilla ice cream but with a difference it had vodka in it, with a day of quaser and cola floats it was like a real kids bday party! after all that excitement we all headed back for a lie down at our hostels before our night of fun together on the tiles, all barr laura and chris were leaving for napier tomo so we had to make the most of it! x x x
