I saw snow today and am soooooo excited! Fabulous snow and loads and loads of it!
So, what have i been up to since i last wrote, to be honest not a whole lot, mainly bus journeys, lots of them and 8 and 9 hour ones, but anyways, when i last wrote i was in franz josef, we lazed all day on sat and in the evening we had more soup, i never thought i'd say this but i'm getting bored of soup! I watched my 1st ever rugby match and well done the kiwi's i think after a while i had a good idea of what was going on and we chatted with peeps and packed..... not too exciting really but fun. I was in a great dealof pain in the thighs though from doing the trek and still am actually! ow... 3 days later aswell...ouch!
So we were up early again on sun for a 7.30 bus pickup and a 9 hour ride to queenstown, which is famous for 3 things snowboarding, skiing and partying! I was looking forward to getting there, so we said bye bye to the fairytale glacier, i really believe if you fell down one of the cracks on the glacier you would find a magical world of ice witches and unicorns living underneath, it really was a magical place! The bus journey didn't start off too well, we had a bus driver that thought he was 'kerazzy'as he suggested at 7.45am that someone on the bus should sit on all the seats and would win a prize, i'm glad no one took him up on that offer! Then the girl infront of naomi, started pushing her seat into naomi's legs quite hectically! and then.... the window on the ceiling of the bus decided to leak all over my legs so it was a great start to the day!!?? But the day did get better, the sceenery really is amazing like something i've never seen before! the buses let you take full advantage of it too, with pic stops every 20 odd mins, which is great unless you're trying to sleep!
We had some lunch and carried on bussing it, someone on the bus decided to plug their ipod in and it was the worst music ever, when it finished the bus driver said whose ever it is come and get you're ipod and naomi said rather loudly 'whose gonna own up to owning that'with that the guy in the seat behind us gets up to get his ipod, ooops! on the way to queenstown we stopped at the famous bunggee jump place, no one on our bus did one and with my legs already in incredible pain there was no way i was risking anymore of my body parts! The jump looked ace though but it's over in a few seconds but after talking to some people we met i'm really tempted to do a skydive in the north island, i'll keep you posted!
We were gonna snowboard in queenstown but it was too busy so we decided to just stay here for one night, the backpackers we were staying in was weird, like a halls of residence and like we'd just walked into someones front room! So, with snowborading out the way and one night in queenstown we decided to PARTY! We met all from our bus in a cheap pub but loads of them crash and burnt and it wa left with a lad from leeds, a scottish chap, me and naomi, lauren and john from scottaland and joe, the poor irish guy we cahtted rubbish too the other nite, who was now our mate, a guy called ken and a guy called chris from bolton whose dancing was one of the greates things my eyes ever saw! it was a really good night, we planned to stay up all night to the football but that didn't happen and after so robot type dances to the beastie boys we went to bed at 5am, said goodbye to our new mates and slept for 2 hours, not the best idea when we had to get the bus to christchurch today at 7am but somehow and i'm not sure how, we managed it! i think it was thanks to the cuppa soup this morning, amazing things!!
well i hope u all had a great weekend! big kiss to all! x x x
