So, back to the tale of my Dad and Becs....

The Sun of them being here, me dad, becs and cave boy flew to Cairns for sun and mostly for one of the wonders of the world the great barrier reef!

We arrived and were greeted by amazingly hot weather, so much hotter than melbs, was beautiful, after an alright plane trip we found a beautiful place to stay, rooms in a rainforest setting where they had possums and all sorts just strolling around we explored the place a bit and had an italian then took in a early night as we were up nice and early for the ref the next day!

Once again we were back waking up in pools of sweat, i've missed that feeling, up early and in't bikini's and trunks for boys, not sure a bikini would suit me dad and dave but hey you never know boys we are in the 21st century! So we went to the port - and got a boat to the reef, no catermaran so 'i never get seasick' dave was safe and we arrived after an hour on the reef, and it really is amazing. I know i describe an awful lot of things as amazing but this place really is, maybe i need some new description words!!

If you can only afford to go to one place whilst in oz, come and see the reef. 1st we went for a snorkel and the fish are so used to u that they all swim up close and along with you! They are also the craziest looking fishes you have ever seen, they are all kinds of crazy colours, like someone on acid invented them, for example there is a black fiah with a yellow noise, white polka dots on its back and leopard print on its under belly... they are superb! There is wally a massive wrass that if you move your hand in the water he'll come up and you can stroke him he's bright blue and you can also spot the likes of nemo! My dad really loved it, you actually couldn't get him back on the boat, he was out there all day! My sis has got the urge to dive now after seein the reef, we'll have to go one day soon bec and me and dave did two dives and they were the best dives i've done so far...............! The reef is just amazingly bright colours, photos don't do it justice and whilst diving i came straight up close to a turtle, like cm's away! my favourite thing ever, was just wow! I'm actually speechless..... whilst diving though and a tad nervous as it had been a while, i'm swimming along admiring the sceenery and suddenly have no air, it would seem that dave was doing his underwater mick jagger dancing again and managed to pull my mouth piece out! So, i gave him a rather nice underwater hand jesture! he he! It was cool though, we did a second dive and it was just me and dave, it was brill! We've got pics too so i'll bore you all with them and the slideshow when i get back!

After that bucket load of fun we were pretty much exhausted from fun! It was my best day in Oz yet... that night we were all a tad sun burnt and me and my dad managed to obtain some jellyfish stings, what's a day out without an injury and that night we all chowed down at a mexican restuarant! I had a sunburnt bum and man o man it hurt!

Our last day in cairns had arrived, we chilled by our amazing pool in the middle of the rainforest, it had a spa and we all practised our underwater skills and perfected them (even me pa) and topped up our tans! we had some food and a shop and then got to the airport for what was to be the scariest trip on a aeroplane, ever! For a start our pilot was called LUIGI COLIGI, not a great start.... it was like a flight on a toy aeroplane, we were being flung around back and forth and i actually feared fro me life.... but we're still here to tell the tale... phew!

So it was dad and bec's last nite in oz, up early the next day and we went to daley at chimmeys for cake and lunch, marvelous as ever.... then i went to the airport with dad and bec and being as soft as a marshmallow i cried quite a lot, was very sad to see them go, was grreat having them here! But they left me Willy G Bach, which is small cuddly turle to remind me of cairns and will keep me company on my travels..... x x x
