So... once in Melbourne we realised that as much as it was beauty living on Sian and Jamie's floor we couldn't really spend the nest few weeks here so we had to get ourselves hunting for a home!

With Dave generally disliking most people he meets we decided on finding a pad to ourselves... so the search was on, Sian borrowed her bro's car and how we survived her crazy driving and big spin hook turns in the middle of roads, i'll never know but she took us on a good hunt around melbs for a pad. We went to nearly every laundretted grabbed a handful of adverts and made a mountain of calls and with plenty of viewings under our belt, we were in for a treat of a day....

The 1st house we ended up in was a mere $90 a week, less than £20 each and it was all included, bills and that and as we made our way up the street i must say i had my doubts, well 1st of all we walked past at least 5 prostitutes who were selling their services outside the abode, not the best area and these prostitutes have attitude too, i've known them to have a go if you just walk on thier turf to get where you need to go as they think you may try and steal their business, so that wasn't the best start, the house, well i should say shoebox was no better, it looked like a squat, a bed in a dingy roomand a kitchen that was falling apart.... hhhhmm well we didn't jump at the chance and the guy showing us around, actually looked surprised when we didn't, think he was seeing it through rose tinted glass.....

We then looked at a rather amazing one with a pool on the roof and a pretty good view of the city, i think we wre swayed by the pool a bit so we put in a application with what was the worst run estate agents in the land, i'm not sure they knew their ares from their elbow so we figured that we shouldn't pin our hopes on this one and kept looking....

We trawled around so so many appartments and put in a few applications and still no luck, it really did look like we would be spending a few months on sian and jamie's sofa.....

We then in a panic found a pad, well it looked good when were first shown round, so we said we'd move in and both got the keys and sat in it for 10mins, looked at each other and then looked out our windown at the building that was our view making our apartment a dark room in daylight and thought, nopee not sure we can live here in this darkness.... funny saying that now though as at the moment where i'm living has no windows (this is where i've lived since dave left) and you never know what time it is, it could be 8am or 8pm... it's a house of confusion!

So... we had resided ourselves to living in a hostel for the rest of our time in oz, not a preferred option but then like a flash in the dark we stumbled accross a viewing of an amazing apartment, 11th floor and a fantastic view of the docklands, brand new and fully furnished and to top it all off it has a pool and a gym on the 25th floor, it was amazing so we signed the papers gave our deposit and we were in, i'll put so picturs up of the place, it was beauty and you saw the best sunsets over melbourne on a pretty much daily basis right from your lounge window! We were slightly swayed with the pool when we moved in but after moving out we shouldn't have been as i only actually used it 3 times and i think dave only made a splash in it once! So, we had an appartment, moved in and over here they don't onnect your electric till you move in, they were meant to connect us on th fri and somehow they slipped up and forgot..... so we were electric free for 4 days as it was a bank holiday wk-end and the hotteste weekend ever, so we got ready in the dark, ate only hob food cos we had gas and sweated bigtime in the crazy heat as we had no air conditionin but all this aside we had an amzing apartment that i doubt i'll ever live in anything like it again! It was beauty and served us well! x x x
