So, today i WILL finish the tale and begin to give you a low down on my last 4 months in Melbs, it'd be rude not too........
But 1st of all, what you've all come to my pod for, Paul's words of wisdom, here goes:
- Doing a baby is like doing a BIG pooh
- If God wanted humans to swim, he'd have made us into boats
- here's a fact, since the death of arthur fowler in eastenders allotment use has declined by more than half....
Thanks for them paul, we're learning sooooooooo much! Well back to the tale of the two in the campervan, so we've reached the time in the story when we're on the final day of campervan fun. So, up early we set off on a trip to the island they named phillip, for tonight we were off to see penguins on this island and not just any penguins, no siree, we were off to see the teeniest tinyiest penguins in the whole wide world, more about that later....
So, we're driving around the island and dave spots a pier so, decides to do a spot of fishing and hooray, for the rod had a wee tug and he finally caught a fish, it was a wee one but never theless, it was still a fish! It was actually a flathead he caught which i've noticed since working in the fish market, is one of our most popular fishes and rather tasty deep fried in batter - oh there's an interesting bit of info for you!
dad, we found a place called Rhyl and called in there, not as clasy and pos as the rhyl in wlaes i'm afraid!!?? so after and day of exploration and fishing and touristy type fun we were off to the penguins!! You watch them come out the sea and make their way to the shore, they are pretty darn cute little buggers, they are very wee. Dave was gutted as the penguins or pengwens as he puts it cos he can't say penguins, ask him when you see him and he told me that paul says it like that but he doesn't, i asked him and he says penguins, anyways, dave was gutted cos he wanted king penguins cos they are more manly but i think he secretly thought they were cute??? After they eventually come out the water, this is well worth a trip if you are in oz, they two and fro for ages, a tad nervous as they come to shore, they then get some confidence and waddle up shore, you can walk on a boardwalk right next to them and they are completly oblivious to you being there, that or they're so used to it! But don't try stick your finger in the mouth of one like a wee kid did, cos you WILL lose it! So, we had a trecherous drive to our campsite, avoiding hitting animals that seemed drawn to our headlights like a fish is to water, roadkill avoided - a near miss - phew! We went to bed for we'd drive to Melbourne the next day and we were well excited!
So, up early, we say goodbye to the yellow bucket, that had become a steady mate when u can't wait.... for a pee pee! So, we were off and this story will finally take us Melbs...
It was no special drive, we drove and drove and 2 hrs later, which seemed like 20hours, we arrived in Melbourne and were where we sat in the van waiting for welsh............... sian!
And she hasn't changed, for all those who don't know, sian was mine and dave's flatmates whilst in Newcastle and she kindly loaned us her floor til we found somewhere to stay! fantastic to see her, only change is the hair colour, it's now brown!
So now we had to clean the van, which consisted of picking all the flies off the grid at the front, using one of those super hoses to push all the flies off with water squirting speed, kerpow! By the time we finished it was gleeming! beautiful! We took it back, said our goodbyes, it'd been fun and we waited in anticipation whilst the guy with clipboard checked the van for knocks and bumps and my lucky stars were in as he didn't notice one, so no charge... whoppee, that guy defo needs glasses as it was one massive dent!
So, me and D explored Melb city centre and met sian and her aussie boyf jamie..... lovely lad! We just had a laugh catching up and that and that evening we were in for a right treat..... which i'll tell you about later as i have `a right bad headache, i think it may be one of those mi-granes!! Plus it's lovely ellie's last night tonight and i'm sure gonna miss her when see leaves, so i'll write more in a bit, when i can push through the pain barrier, but before that 3 good lucks! GOOD LUCK and hooray for claire and ian and your new pad and wo hoo and good lucks to tom and beth for your new pad and some more good lucks and special things to rach for her new pad! wishing you lots of happy time and magic wishes in these places, i can't wait to see them! hooray guys.... happy friday one and all! x x x
