This whole trip just gets better and better each day.

I will back up a little bit and talk about the end of our backpacking trip.
Since I last wrote, we spent another day or 2 in Interlaken, Switzerland. We decided to go rafting in glacial rapids which was unbelievable. SO much fun... the river flowed from Jungfraujoch, which is the highest mountain of the Swiss Alps and is covered in ice & snow, so needless to say the water was absolutely freezing. But all the water in Interlaken is beautiful, it is like an icy clear blue color. But yes, rafting... really intense. Nobody fell out though, haha so I guess we did pretty well! After that we just explored the town a bit more and had our last dinner together as a group. Bobby left that night, and the rest of us went our separate ways the next morning at the train station. Brandon, Monica, Devin, and Garrett all went to Spain... the 4 guys we met continued with their backpacking trip (they might come to Florence tomorrow which will be cool), and Jess and I went on our train to Florence.

This morning we checked in with the school and got the key to our apartment. Woooowwwwwwwwwwwwwww. OUR APARTMENT IS AMAZING!!!! Firstly, the location is incredible. We are literally RIGHT next to the Duomo, the central building of Florence (mind bogglingly enormous and beautiful). You can see the top of it out of one of the bedroom windows. Our apartment is on the top floor of a building above a hotel.... I am in love with it. It has two bedrooms, a bathroom, a decent sized kitchen and living room area, and an outdoor terrace (where I already decided I am going to eat my breakfast every single morning). The whole thing is so perfect and adorable, we really couldnt have gotten any luckier. When we checked in, the woman told us that ours is the best location possible. Scoooooore

We havent met our roommates yet... they will probably get here later today. We have the rest of today and tomorrow to get settled, and then friday is orientation. I am so happy right now, and I love Firenze already even though I have only been here for about 24 hours.

Still havent gotten the box that I shipped here, so i have to use internet cafes until i get my cord.

I miss everyone at home so much, and I wish you could be here with me to share all of this. I hope you are starting to plan your trips out to visit me.... haha you can crash on my couch! Please tell me what is going on with you guys, California feels worlds away which is a little sad. Love and miss you! Ciao!
