Spent today in Taormina, was such a gorgeous town perched up on the mountain, we went for lunch again and had wine then spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the town swimming off isola bella, was so lovely, we slept on the beach and then went home very sleepy after lots of travelling!

After a good night's sleep we got up at the crqck of dawn and drove up to the base camp of etna a 1900 metres. from there we decided to walk halfway ip (avoiding the cable car) and get the (what we were told cheap) jeep and that would take us to the accessible crater and summit. However, after two and a half hours of walking upwards solidly (in sicilian heat) we arrived FINALLY at the jeep staitons, jubilations were heard from us, until we saw the price of the jeep which were not only ridiculously expensicew but we literally didn't have eough cash on us....so, we decided we had come thus far and walked the rest, oh my god....we finally reached the highest point people could reach at 2920 metres, we'd basically walked snowdon at altitude and under heat with the tw of us hating exercise, the satisfaction at the top almost made it worth it, was amazing to see the volcano up clse and personal and get a real perspective of the dominance of etna over sicily. Also holly wee'd at th top of etna (al fresco), that was also satisfying (yes torze did take pictures)! so we walked down, but as we only ate at 8 in the morning and it was now gone two (we like our routine) we neede food, so we walked halway down and gave in to the cable car by scraping together the pennies, although we felt a lot better after stealing a tub of pringles form the overpriced souvenir shop, oops, good though! So, in case this wasnt ewnough fr our day, after a twent minute nap on the way down we went for a pizza (deserved) and then went for a relax on the beach where we felt the urge to go out on the piss, so we went back to camp, got changed downed a few (including some dodgy sicilian liquor lemoncillo) and ended up in a random rave near our campsite, then gate crashed a party on the beach ( which we managed to escape befor beiong caught) and went back to the camp very sleepy at four in the morning to find the gates of the camp closed and dogs everywhere....SHIT! Had to scale a ten foot high gate with spike (no joke), this included, 2 pairs of bare feet and a maxi dress...never been so grateful to see the tent and to pass out.....

Woke up after four hours of sleep because the tent was a sauna (no shade) and were very hung over, so we thought it'd be a good idea to make 7 kilos of pasta with tuna and mayo and go for a drive, not sucha good idea. To cut a long story short we ended up parking up on a random street in a random town sat in the car and ate our way through the whole bucket of pasta went for a walk for a bout 5 minutes (literally), gave up and drove home where we sat in the car, we loves it, and slept the rest of the afternoon...noone can say we waste our dys!!!!! Enjoyued our last eveing in Sicily where we slept early in preparation for today for our drive to Sorento, near Naples from where we are now writing this from, very nice so far, we will post soon. Love to all, loving your messages...take care, Holly and Torze.
