Mundane prep for the road!

By the time we had completed our jobs and gotten dinner ready, Pete was heading home and he was greeted with barbecued chicken, grilled asparagus and cauliflower for a late dinner. Then the kids went off to bed, Jess watched a movie on TV and Pete and Tim headed back out to the pub for a couple of drinks and another round of pool.
Monday morning and back to work for Uncle Pete. He has a Monday morning meeting every week with critical staff from his practice and buys them breakfast in order to have a pleasant venue to discuss issues with clients, staff, practice etc… and to kickstart the week in a good fashion. Unfortunately for him, it was a long day at work and he did not come home until after 7pm as there were a couple of surgeries at the practice as well as three new critically ill horses that showed up. This was probably just as well as the Kiwis spent the day completing such mundane activities as washing and vacuuming Odie, buying groceries, doing laundry and beginning to pack up as tomorrow morning we are back on the road again and this will be one of our longest stretches in the tent (13 days) and the commencement of the homestretch back to the East Coast.
