. After that, Tim and Eli and Lily and Karen (one of the people staying at the house this week) went for a play on the waverunners (jet-skis) on the lake. Oh my good golly gosh did we have a wonderful time. We spent over an hour out on the lake riding and playing on these wonderful toys. Their acceleration, handling, power, and stability made for a superb time. We were turning super tight circles, bumping over each other's wake, sprinting across the lake and in general making a great, big petrol-head nuisance of ourselves. Eli and Lily were in heaven and since I got to ride with Eli, his yippees, giggles, yahoos and constant screams of joy told me that he was having as much fun or more than I was. Too soon the clouds were building in the sky and it was time to head off the lake and back up to the house.
Back at the house, the kids spent the remainder of the late afternoon watching a movie in the built-in 7 seat movie theater on the bottom floor of the house. The theatre was equipped with leather reclining chairs, surround sound, large projection screen etc.....They would have spent all day in there if we had let them. Then we had the most exquisite Mexican Dinner with bourbon, orange and cumin pulled pork, all the fixins with chipotle, bacon beans, coleslaw, quacamole, etc all of which had been made from scratch by the talented Chef who did dinners at the house in the summertime. We sure felt lucky to have such kind, generous and interested hosts for the day and night. The day also saw some long, hot showers, lots of visiting and catching up with our friends and in general, doing a lot of not much!!! We retired to our beds satiated.
Today was one of the days on our trip that we were most looking forward too and it did not disappoint. Rising at our normal time we once more braved the mosquitoes which, in our minds at least, were becoming rather legendary with their ability to bite through layers of clothing, which had previously proved impenetrable to other flying and crawling biting insects. What ensued over breakfast and the subsequent breaking of camp was a funny dance of trying to swat the morning air biting insect swarm while eating and performing camp breakdown tasks all the while simultaneously scratching and trying not to scratch the many welts on our bodies. In a relatively short time (surprised?) we were loaded and on our way for the entire one hour drive to the beautiful, luxuriant well-designed and well-stocked house on the shore of Flathead Lake that belonged to Jan's (Jess's Mum) college roommate and her husband. We arrived at the house just at noon and what followed was simply a wonderful afternoon and evening. We made it in time to join them for lunch and then were taken on a Lake tour on a beautiful wooden boat
