Today was a quiet day on the farm with Tim's Dad. We got up and had a simple breakfast before heading out to help on the farm. We planted leeks and onions and then headed to Bridgton to get a gas bottle and other supplies for the new car. It is quickly getting set up and well equipped for an extended road trip. Exciting items like tablecloths and citronella candles were the order of the day.

When we got home in the late afternoon, Tim, Eli and Lily decided to go for an extended exploration of the woods below the farmhouse. We headed deep into the woods and just when we were about to turn around and head home, we heard a noise up a tree. Upon further investigation we discovered a porcupine about 10 feet off the ground. It was a great treat to see such a prickly animal in its native environment. The kids and I were excited to see it and it was a nice complement to the wild turkeys we had seen by the side of the road when we drove to Bridgton.

A lovely meal of salad and cheeseburgers for tea and then off to bed for us all.

hi guys. Sounds like your trip is going well, except for poor lily! Our trip up north has been an adventure as well - living out of suitcases for a week was interesting! The container eventually arrived and we are flat out unpacking. Like you, there are plenty of new and exciting places to go see and adventures to have. Already looking forward to going back to mainland to get out in them thar hills. Take it easy. G and G
