We have decided to let an orthopaedic surgeon do the hip replacement, even though I am perfectly confident that I could manage it - Travis, the surgeon, asked what would I do if she was a bleeder. Nuf said, besides I don't have eough rags. So the operation is scheduled for April 3 followed by 4 weeks of recuperation. The plan is for me to stick around until the 4th and then head back up to Northern Virginia to work for a month while Mary heals. I think she has had some offers for "live-in nurse" while I'm gone. The doc assured us she will be good as new when he's done. I was just getting used to a slower Mare- I'm a little scared to consider a faster perpetual motion Mare.

I can't explain the direction my art has taken, other than I wanted to do something for friends and family. "Rosie and Nina" depicts a somewhat historic event when our nieces faced each other in a collegiate lacross match, Nina playing for Penn and Rosie playing for Georgetown. "Team" has no relation to anyone. "Maggie" was done from a great photo taken by her parents, Jimmy and Ronnie. "Iggy" is Diane's mom Betty who we lost recently, and "Bob", her husband, is still sharing a cold one with us.

Great pictures, Billy! I hope to be one of Mary's nurses in April! Glad to hear you won't be doing the surgery!

Thanks for the travel and health update. The paintings are amazing....We have cordially invited the Knoll children for Easter dinner. I am hopeful we can dye eggs sometime, too!
