So the huge travel mishap that started in Munda continues. Not a big deal in Munda, I had built in a day of slack and I ended up using it. Lost a dive, but in the long run the trip stayed on schedule, for the time being. My flight leaving Honiara ended up leaving about 6 hours late which meant I would miss my connection in Port Vila. Again, not a huge deal, gave me a day in a city that I would have otherwise ignored. Here is a lovely view from a WW! memorial and a carving at a museum I visited that day.

So as I got off the plane knowing I missed my connection it was not that hard to have a smile on my face until I realized that my bag had not gotten off the plane with me! I was not alone in my misery, about half of the passengers who deplaned in Vanuatu did not get their bags. After a much deliberation on the part of the airline, it was determined that our bags had gone on to Fiji and we wouldn't see them for several days at best. So let me get this straight, my bag will spend a few days in Fiji--I haven't even been there yet!!
