Driving from Shigatse to Lhasa we stopped at Yamdrok-Tso lake north of Lhasa. It is one of the 4 holy lakes in Tibet. It was a brilliant color of turquoise blue with snowcapped mountains in the background. When I walked up the hill away from the road and got away from everyone else, it was my favorite place in Tibet.
The most recognizable landmark there is of course the Potala Palace, the former home of the Dali Lama. Now you can't get a picture of it without a Chinese flag in the frame so we decided to have a little fun with it.
The Jokhang is a religious temple in Old Town. Here is a window there with flowers and a funky picture on the roof.
