We took a 12 hour bus to Campo Grande, Brazil in the Pantanal area and we were met by our tour company, Eco Adventures. They were awesome! Right when we arrived they took Vic and I to the Ministero de Agricultra so that we could get our dog traveling papers to Bolivia before the holidays. They then arranged a 5 hour minivan ride to Buraco de Piranhas in the southern Pantanal where a truck was waiting for us to take us on the rest of the 14 mile journey into the Pantanal.

We stayed at Pousada Santa Clara which was very nice. Our rooms were great with air conditioning and TV's, but not in english. A small swimming pool, but lots of hammocks around under big palapas. They had so many beautiful wild birds all over the property, Blue Macaws, green parrots, red chested storks and MORE! We even had wild pigs on the property. Because we were in such a remote location the Pousada provided us with three meals a day and the meals were delicious.

Our tours would start from the Pousada each morning at 7:30 and we would return for lunch and a nap and have another tour at 3:00 in the afternoon. We went horsebackriding, on a jeep safari, a boat tour on the river which Vic swam in (along with Caiman sunning on the shore!!), Jungle trekking and pirahna fishing...and Vic and I both caught fish! (which we later fed to the alligators in the river) We saw alot of wildlife, our guide Mycon, who could speak great english was great and made our time in the Pantanal a wonderful experience.
