(If I have to write this again, I'm going to pull what's left of my hair out -- twice now I've written the travelogues only to run out of time and lose my work! This time it will work damn you...)
LAS VEGAS!!
When we flew into the airport and walked into the waiting area, we were greeted by a sight that would pretty much define LV for us -- lots of slot machines, and lazy Americans getting transported around by wheelchairs! We were supposed to be staying in an 8 bed dorm whilst we were there, but on the plane we thought we'd get into the Vegas spirit, and so got a shuttle bus to the Tuscany Hostel & Casino... In hindsight (especially when we ran out of money in LA!), we could have gone somewhere a bit cheaper -- the place was massive! Our room had 2 double beds, a lounge, a kitchen, a shower and a bath, a Mexican dwarf to help us with anything we needed, and the all important TV! The complex also had a swimming pool, a gym and a bloody great casino in the back! Plus, we were pretty close to the strip, so after some grub we caught the "monorail, monorail, monorail" up to the Stratosphere to decide how to spend the day... after looking blank at each other for a few minutes we went to the bar to decide how to spend the day. On the bar they have these computer screens, where you can play a selection of various games: Bonus Poker, Double Bonus Poker, Triple Bonus Poker, Aces Poker (and about another 10 poker orientated games), AND Black Jack. So of course we played a few games of Black Jack and then I went to the top of the Stratosphere to ride Insanity, a swing that spins you over the edge of the building, which is about 1000 ft tall.
The next day we decided to really go for it, so after a swim and some breakfast (Giggsy had pancakes with burgers and scrabbled egg on it to try and be hard -- he managed about two mouthfuls) we jumped on the "monorail, monorail, monorail" to the MGM. After that New York New York where we went on another rollercoster, the Bellagio (Tony, I saw the water fountain display, which was superb... but I didn't cry), Monto Carlo, stopping for a few drinks in each place, and then onto a few other watering holes before getting some food. Then we popped back to the hotel to get changed before the big night -- WHEN DISASTER STRUCK!! While Giggsy was in the shower, I decided to 'rest my eyes' because I was knackered... I woke up swearing at about 3am because I instinctively knew what had happened. I looked over to see Giggsy was asleep as well (apparently he 'rested his eyes' too instead of waking me up! The nob-head!) So our big night didn't happen -- RARRAAGH! Oh well, the next day I went to the gym, had some food and then went to the airport because we had a plane to catch to LA...
Jonsey's Final Thought: LV was mad! It's a bizzare place surrounded by mountains and desert. I would definitely like to come back with loads of money and see all the sights properly... but having said that I don't think I would like it if I did so! It's a shame we didn't see all the places I had been told about, but one thing that we definitely found annoying was that all the buildings looked cool (if a bit weird) from the outside, but they all looked exactly the same in the inside. Apart from the Bellagio and Monto Carlo, you got the feeling you could be anywhere... On the flip side though, we did lots dumb American freakazoids! The best one was when we were eating in a restaurant, this fat Texan had been turned away at the door for some reason and he was screaming "I want you to feed me! Let me in there FFEEEEDDD MMMEEE!"

1. THE TUSCANY HOSTEL AND CASINO
Also, I managed to get a good view of Vegas up there -- I'd like to say I got some wicked pictures, but as you'll see when / if I ever get around to loading them that I didn't take many pictures at all! After stopping in a few other small casinos for some drinks and a rollercoster ride, we went back to the hotel to drink more and gamble small on the screens at the bar! The next day we decided to really go for it, so after a swim and some breakfast (Giggsy had pancakes with burgers and scrabbled egg on it to try and be hard -- he managed about two mouthfuls) we jumped on the "monorail, monorail, monorail" to the MGM.
