Hi, I hope everyone's well back home... here's what I've been doing the last week or so...

My travelling experience started with a BANG, quite literally. On the way to the airport, there was a huge crash on the M25, so we got stuck in traffic for about 4 hours, and subsequently missed the flight! That's right -- the FIRST flight! Fortunately we managed to catch a later flight for no extra cost, but not the best start...

NEW YORK

NY was amazing! We arrived at the bug-ridden hostel at about 11:45pm, so we only had time to go to one crappy bar opposite the hostel that night. Despite being a bit cheap and nasty, the hostel was only a small walk away from the Empire State Building, which we went up Tuesday morning. Quite a nice view up there, I'd recommend it... After that we hopped on a tour bus, in true tourist fashion, and was wisked around Down Town NY and given some uttery useless facts by our on-bus MC. We stopped at Ground Zero and tried to get a super-size McDonalds... but they don't do them (sniff) anymore! After the tour we went to Central Park, which was amazing. It was the perfect weather, and after a few beers, watching a bit of softball (rounders!), we thought it was time for our first crawl. So, we started walking back to the hostel, stopping in Mickey Mantle's, another bar where all the barmaids were seriously hot, some diner place, then Hooters! We stayed in Hooters for awhile, but the time difference / jet lag-thingy kicked in at about 8 / 9pm and we (well, more Giggsy), was pissed out of our faces after about 6 pints. Anyway, we managed one more place on the way back, which was expensive enough to do a runner without paying, and then we finally stopped in a shop along Times Square to haggle for a cheap camcorder for Giggsy!

Unfortunately, we didn't have time to explore the next day because we had a plane to catch to Vegas...

Jonsey's final thought: Am absolutely gutted I didn't have more time in NY. The buildings are so immense and I could easily walk around all day falling over trying to see the tops of them! However, didn't get to speak to that many people, plus the ones we did, didn't have a clue what we were saying -- they really should learn English! I'll definitely go back one day!
