GREECE!!
Entry 32 of 33 | show all | print this entry |
Hello!
We have left the land of the French and come to the land of the Greek ya-yas! We are staying at a youth hostel in Athens... It says it's on a 'quiet residential street' when in reality the mo-peds can be heard zooming around until the wee hours of the morning! We went and visited the Acroplis and were thouroughly amazed. Just standing underneath one of the columns of the Parthenon took my breath away. We also saw the Temple of Zues, and the Theatre of Dyonisos (which in it's day could seat 17000 people! That's like Rexall Place in Edmonton!). Yes, we have also been loving the cuisine with it's greek salad and mousaka galore. Athen is a noisy, bustling city, and not entirely the cleanest, but I suppose it's the Greek charm in general that makes it memorable nonetheless. Now we are heading to the islands. We are taking the night ferry to Crete, then later going to Santorini, then back to Athens. We hope to get swimming in the sea quite soon!
Miss you all, Gwen and Jen

Hey you guys! I am SO jealous of your adventures...but I'll get over it, perhaps follow your footsteps someday. Anyways, I'm sick at home today, what with Rotary being over (Jenny, you proly know what I'm talkin about...lol), and next week, I unfortunately won't be able to see you the day you get home, because I will be gone on a band trip. We get back on the 9th, so I guess I'll get my own privat... show all
