L'eau Vive Christian Retreat

We have been a little sloooow on the entries, now haven't we? I guess the Provencial sun is just draining all our energy! Jennifer and I have been at l'Eau Vive for a week now. It has been the most peaceful, but at the same time tiring, week! This place is a Christian retreat centre that groups can rent and hold seminars and conference. There is a main house with a chapel attached and a dining hall and kitchen. Jenny and I have our own room with a balcony over looking a field of goats! Oh, there's a horse here too, his name in Bijoux which means jewel. I told them it was hardly a manly name for a male horse! Well I guess HE doesn't care so much. Yes, we do work here, not just hang out and play with the animals. We clean bothrooms and do up rooms, and help cook when there is a big group staying, and do dishes, and bake when all our work is done! We have 2 hours off in the afternoon where we go for walks...OK fine we take naps most afternoons. It's tiring work cleaning dem bathrooms!

All joking aside, it's most wonderful to be surrounded by believers again. Our work team, which is about 10, does a weekly bible study togather. We also eat most of all meals together as a team and go on outings when we don't have a group staying. Like just yesterday we took the day off and went to a near by market in a cute little Provencial town. And then today we had the day off again, so Jenny and I and two of our friends went into an Easter egg hunt in a park in Aix-En-Provence (the closest city to l'Eau Vive) that the church hosted. Oh ya, we found a fabulous english-speakingh church right in the heart of Aix! We are also attending their sunrise service bright and early tomorrow morning. It's nice to hear our own language again, although I do loooove practicing mon francais!!

God is good. I hope He blessed you this very day. Joyeux Paque!! Happy Easter!!

Gwen

P.S. Don't worry about us getting tired from the work. It not as much as Gwen jokes it is. Sometimes I think we have more coffee breaks then work times. But the SUN on the otherhand is making us nice and sleepy!

Hi Jen & Gwen
Good to finally read how and where you are. Happy Easter to you folks, nice you can worship in English. Sun is sort of coming to Victoria with our late spring, lots of blossoms and sneezes. Are you experiencing spring there, or is it into summer warm weather? Will you get to see the palace at Versailles? I was in Nanaimo and Duncan visiting loved ones and little twins, all are doing well and send their greetings to you. Take care, keep safe and enjoy. Love Oma
