At first I wanted to name this entry something like "Bohemian KamPod". Cesky Krumlov (or Krumau) uses a very similar omega-shaped twist of the river Vltava, which makes it a natural fortress, just like with our Kamieniec on Smotrych. However in terms of real awe Krumau gives you more and then some: the town's appearance is little changed since the 18th century and its buildings have been well maintained and restored. It's smaller than KamPod but it has maybe 10 times more buildings from the last 750 of its history in great shape making it extremely concentrated for that special kind of historical-tourist impressions which I'm hunting for. The castle of the glorious Schwarzenberg dynasty is simply huge (2nd in CR after the Hrad of Prague) all covered by baroque paintings. Its almost as big as the old city on an island (almost) which it faces. The position of the castle in front of the city and vice-verse makes C. Krumlov an outstandingly photogenic place. This and the really warm weather (it kept well about 25C for these two days) resulted that the most pictures from our trip were shot here (so far).
We fought with this maze of cobbled crooked streets, while the Vltava rushed along from almost every direction, where every single stone had a story to tell and with a new more picturesque view behind each next corner up to the late evening. And we are now totally exhausted with our legs made of cotton wool. But we feel happy because we've been in a fairy tale.

I would highly recommend to anyone who comes to Czech Republic to visit this city. This is a luxurious ending to our short visit to Bohemia. Tomorrow morning we will drive to Vienna.
