Bcak to Santiago for thursday night before heading off to Valle Nevado, a ski resort nearby where Marco's uncle has an appartent he is lending us for a week, the first week of the season.
We headed to a different hostel this time in a different area of Santiago but were equally impressed. There are loadsof nice parks with fountains and open spaces which always seem to be full of people (the open spaces). More than any other South American city there is a really obvious presence of students here. There are quite a few universities here and we keep meeting young people from all over Chile who have come here to study, makes it feel like a very lively place, there's always protests and stuff going on outside the University buildings and schools.
We met some Americans in our hostel, there also seem to be loads of Americans studying here for a few months during their time at College. Had another great night, the nightlife here is pretty awesome, its quite funny we know most of the words to loads of spanish songs now, which keeps surprising locals when most of us can't really string a descent conversation together in spanish.
I do feel that my spanish has improved massively though since we started and can pretty much get across what i want to say in most situations now.
