Woke up to the power on and sand blown in our room from under and around the door. Our breakfast was of a bowlfull of dry cold toasted bun slices with marmalade on the side. It kept the stomach from growling for a while anyways. The road today was straight and desert like with lots of 2-3' shrubbery. We saw sheep, guanaco's (brown lama-like animal) and Patagonia hare (resembles the body of a rabbit and has a head like a cat). We pushed the wind all day and got ourselves a nice room by the ocean. As we go South, the days are getting longer (8:45 sunset), temps are getting much colder (today we started at 1C and it was 8C when we stopped) and the sun is behind us all day. We are still being encouraged daily on the road. The majority of people in cars, trucks or buses are honking their horns or flashing their lights to get our attention for their wave or thumbs up. This started in Mexico and has not changed during the whole trip.
