East Timor was really special to me but I had to leave just for the sake of my bank account. I don't have the intention to be back home before Christmas. But it was definitely one of my best experiences in South East Asia.

Now I'm back in Indonesia, Labuanbajo to be precise. I've been here earlier this year on my diving holiday and the underwater world is just so amazing that I came back for more. I know, you guys think that I must have grown gills already with all the time I've spent below the surface. But hey, soon it'll be all over culture and trekking and jungles again. So I won't bother you with more diving pics and stories any longer.

The place I'm currently staying at is definitely hot and each morning I wake up with a pillow so wet one might think it's just came out the washing machine. Same with the mattress. Gladly, the heat stays in that room so everything soaking wet is dry in the evening when it all starts over again. So I changed the hot room and went on a liveaboard for two nights where I slept outside. The diving was excellent, once more and cruising on a boat in the Komodo National Park is just lovely. My biggest highlight were obviously the manta rays. On the dives at Manta Point we could already spot groups of up to eight mantas from the surface and once in the water I lost count at some point. It must have been about 20 of them and two crossed over right above my head. That's pretty much the only time you are supposed to hold your breath and hell I did. An animal with a wingspan of up to 4 meters one is lost for breath. Other than that there's always plenty to see. Little sea creatures like the nudibranchs or crabs in all forms, sizes and colours could be found on each dive.

All in all I made the right decision to come back. I guess those were some of my last dives on this trip and I'm really happy that I had great encounters with the life aquatic here in Komodo.
