San Pedro is a great place to start excursions from. Even most of the attractions of the desert are that close that you can reach them on bike. The first day i decided to see the geysirs of El Tatio which were quite impressive. Since the geysirs are most active in the morning hours we reached there at 6 o'clock and it was freezing cold (-11 degrees). But the fascinating geysirs that were blowing out steam like crazy made up for this. After that we went on to see the typical landscape and animals of this area.

On the next day i decided to rent a bike. The first stop on bike was at the ruins of the Atacameņos in Quitor. After that i went on to see Valle de la Muerte, to go there i had to climb a huge mountain on bike and i almost blacked out. After having admired the valley i went to Valle de la Luna the valley that the Atacama is most famous for. It is said that i looks like the surface of the moon, but since i have never been on the moon i can't confirm that. After that day i know that 3 liters of water are not enough to do a trip on bike in the desert(40km on bike, 7km on foot).
