It was with a bit of trepidation that I arose yesterday morning to head with the team to the gun club......but it was a fun time! The coppers, of course, loved it, and showed off their skills in shooting a standing target in the chest and head. Luce, Peter and I were just as skilled of course......also had a go at a rifle, and on the 10th shoot at a target, I was happy to break the thing (I'm sure it's got a name?) apart!!! The others all got more than me, but I was happy. Next it was to the Rotary Club of Victorville, where we again enjoyed MORE food and chatted with the locals, before presenting another fine presentation. Well done team.
Following that, it was a presentation and substantial tour of the Southern Califonia Logistics Airport (SCLA) by local Rotarian, Dick Cole. Saw a rather large jet which is used for fighting fires in the US, and may be seen used in Australia in the future....although I think it's a little big (needs a big runway) and not as good looking as Elvis.....even if it does do 40,000 gallons of retardant in 8 seconds....
The evening was spent with our host families, another great day on this adventure, and it's wonderful having time with our new friends.
