Another great day around Vegas. A wonderful morning meeting at Las Vegas Nth club in the lounge of a local casino. Casinos over here are as common as a milkbar or service station, they are everywhere. Poker machines are even located in the local supermarket, however it is illegal to conduct lotto.
We headed to a local community day care centre which caters for underpriviliged families. The chiildren were extrememly welbehaved and Narelle had a wonderful time performing and dancing with the kids. We saw the new playground that the local Rotary club had sponsored. Very well used by the kids.
We headed to a local mall, abosolute contrast to the poor area we had just been in. Some of made teddy bears for our kids, stuffing them and putting special messages inside.
A Mexican lunch, another big feed.
Then off to a local High School to meet a Interact Club, which is a junior Rotary committee for high school students.
They were fascinated by our accent, asked many questions of our culture and showed great interest in GSE.
Home to get ready for a big night out.
Off to a ice hockey game with some younger Rotary members. Interesting game, has nothing on Aussie Rules. Home team lost, but we got free massages.
Out into the limmo and a quick drive to New York New York casino for a rollercoaster ride on the roof.
Tim, Rhonda and Luce took on the challenge. A fantastic roller coaster on the roof of the casino.
Home in the limmo to Matt's house (a young rotarian), to play some local games and then finish the night at a local bar.
Narelle coming down with a cold went home early.
Our Vegas stay is all but over.
See you next time.
