Hello All,
Another great day from here over in sunny Vegas. A sleep in, up around 8 to 8.30am, time to enjoy a nice breakfast with families and then a 9.45am start at the Nevada Cancer Institute. Even the hospital is like a hotel. This place is a few years old, designed with state of the art facilities, with the intent to make dealing with cancer as pleasant as possible. It would be the place to go if you were unfortunate enough to be fighting this horrible disease. It was a cross between a day spa, hotel, library, restaurant and a little bit of hospital. A lot of money donated by the wealthy gaming industry. A real positive light on a city the takes so much from it's visitiors.
From here we were taken to a professional location where we participated in a round table discussion with some experts in our corresponding fields. These included a registered nurse specialising in diabetes, a Professor in Emergency Management and Public Safety, a Juvenile Probation Officer, and two environmental students. A great info sharing session had by all. We are similar in many ways, but both sides had heaps to offer each other.
Then lunch at a classy sandwich shop
Then free time for the afternoon. Our choice. What do we want to do? Relax? Sleep? Gamble? No pressure, do what we want. So all but Narelle chose to continue the whirl wind tour and visit Hoover Dam. Very worth while, an amasing engineering achievement.
Dinner with host families, and hopefully early to bed for the earliest start yet, up before 5.30am for a 6.55am Roatry meeting........... Early early early.
Bye for now, luv you all.
