On The Beach

Arrived in Koh Samui yesterday after an overnight train journey down from Bangkok. The journey was pretty uneventful, except that I've picked up a stinking cold and I'm currently feeling pretty crappy, and I've probably given an entire trainload of people my cold.
The transfer boat from Surat Thani was absolutely packed, but the vast majority of people were heading towards Koh Phangan, for the next Full Moon Party I assume.
I found a reasonably nice beach villa right by the beach in Chaweng, but maybe because I have this cold, and because THE SUN HASN'T COME OUT YET, I'm not really feeling the love for Koh Samui. I know that Chaweng isn't considered the nicest part of the island, but I wanted somewhere with a bit of life to it and it just feels a wee bit dull at the moment. And despite people's raves about the beaches, I reckon Phuket's are definitely nicer. Maybe thing's will perk up this evening.
