In Jerusalem, most Jews strictly observe Shabbat (day of rest) and that means there are a lot of restrictions (no driving, turning off and on lights, no exchange of money, ...) that begin at sundown. So, on Friday afternoons Jews frantically shop for Shabbat and the Mahane Yehuda Markets is quite a spectacle. Just look at the video and pics and you'll get the idea. It was really fun and exciting. We stopped inside the Shuq to eat at a tiny and busy Iraqi restaurant.
