The Macau marathon trail;-)
I fly into Zhuhai and crossed the border to Macau from there. Wayne, my CS host, was waiting for me on the Macau side. The border was extremely busy and I feared being sent back to BJ after the Chinese custom officer asked me for my old passport. But all went well and I went with Wayne to his apt where I met KK, another CSer.

It was such a relief to be in warm and sunny Macau after the cold BJ winter. I walked around the city, run around the lake near Wayne's apartment and went over to Taipa to pick up my marathon gear.

The marathon start was at 6.30am; it was the perfect running weather since I could run in shorts. The pace was rather fast putting me at 50min for my 10km time. But the race is an out and back, not a loop and coming back into Taipa I slowed down considerably. My final time was 1:52min. After the race, I went to Cafe Noemi for a nice cup of coffee and later went on a little sightseeing tour to Coloane island.

All in all, I had a fantastic time in Macau, even though I missed my plane back to BJ. But thanks to the wonderful help of Hua, who put me up at the airport dorm and helped me check in the next day, I made it back to BJ (almost) on time for work.
