What the hell is the old boy doing back in Cesky Krumlov i hear you say, well.....
TRAINING of course. With kick-off in Munich less than 12 hours away, at six in the morning mind you, the preparation has been nothing short of superb.
Three days back in Krumlov House, got mixed up with a bunch of insane Canadians who don't know how to stop having a good time, partying till the wee small hours and recuperating in the tea-house during the late afternoon, although the good-tea and Budvar are not a good combination.....Work that one out?????
About to pull up stumps last night when we bumped into, okay more like stumbled into, a couple of Australian blonde babes. No harm in that we thought, hoping for some decent conversation at four in the morning, but....it was the most mixed up pair of fruit loops i have encountered on my travels thus far.
I WAS TOLD, that i was a POOR SIMPLE FOOL (what's new!!!) because i hadn't registered with the embassy in Prague and booked a flight back home. There is going to be a war in 20 days you know, going to last for 25 years. So if you don't go home now, you won't see your family for a very long long time because there will not be any fuel in the world. Well i had inhaled way too many Budvars by this time in the morning, so when i said, "No prob's, i will bloody swim", well i tried to keep a straight face but i just could not contain myself when i broke into raptious laughter when she retorted with the comment, "you obviously don't watch CNN", oh please.....
So if i don't see ya all ever again, it's been a bloody good innings, straight bat, off the front foot, even the occassional six, now time for Munich and hopefully a couple long overdue centuries!!!!!!
I can hear the steins calling.......
