After spending two months driving through Mexico, we were ready to head back to the good ol' USA.  We spent one night in Hermosillo, which was about two or so hours from the border.  We had to make sure we canceled our Mexican vehicle permit before we made our way to the line of vehicles at the border.  Fortunately, some hawkers were selling sombreros, etc. so we were entertained while waiting the 45 minutes to cross back into the US.

We entered the US border zone through Nogales, Arizona.  We can't tell you how good it felt to drive on a well paved, free highway.  We were also looking forward to eating some healthy food after eating greasy tacos and enchiladas for two months.  We love Mexican food, but two months of it was too much.  Our first lunch stop...Quiznos!

We stayed with Darren's friends, Tim and Tina Stefek, in Scottsdale after returning to the US.  Tim and Tina are both extremely active (as in hard-core rim-to-rim-to-rim Grand Canyon hikes) and kept us busy with hiking and mountain biking the entire time we stayed with them.  Once you get past the over-the-top glitz and glamour of Scottsdale, it really is a fun, active town.  Of course, we traveled through when the temperatures were still right about 100F and not later in the summer when its 115F.

On a sad note with a positive ending, our blender pitcher, whom most of you know as Action Jackson, was broken at a carwash in Scottsdale at approximately 9:37AM, May 27, 2009.  He was survived by his base and lid.  Action Jackson now has a plastic, unbreakable pitcher and is making shakes as confidently as ever.

Oh, and we worked out with Mike Bibby in the mornings twice at Golds Gym in'd think at $15M per, he'd prefer a nicer gym but his posse didn't seem to mind.
